Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with former trainer his previous coach.
Currently working with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set win over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial title after the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface from March of 2023.
Success also signifies he has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 distinct competitions.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is really nice," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, comprising in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had led observers to wonder if his skill to compete at the highest level was over.
Yet the player has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
He recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players traded break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial professional championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
The opponent rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive final set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, he secured victory with a rally at the net area, with his opponent incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
